A collection of animations made in the ART-367 Motion Design Class. All animations are made with Adobe After Effects. The animations show a progression of learning and working with motion graphics for the first time and gaining new skills and techniques within the software program.

Final 4 Second Looping GIF

Project goals were to create an interesting animation using the three basic shapes of circle, triangle, and square. I created the animation with a gaming / pinball theme in mind to bring the geometric shapes to life.

Squash & Stretch

Final 6 Second Looping GIF

Project goals were to create an interesting composition using the words “squash” “and” “stretch.” The animation utilizes masking of both the text and the background color to add impact. The words visually squash and stretch based on their movement across the screen, and I used a bright and playful color scheme to add personality. A trampoline concept served as the basis for the overall text movement and the carefree attitude.

Hip Hop Pro by Pro Reese

Project goals were to create a logo animation where the School of Design (SOD) logo animates onto the screen, stays static on screen for a short period of time, and then animates off the screen as if it were a YouTube video intro. The logo itself could not be modified (beyond proportioned scaling and color changes) but the backgrounds can vary as necessary. The key challenge was to pair the animation with audio— creating dynamic and kinetic movements to the beat.
