Biography:
Mary Taylor Carwile earned her Bachelor of Interior Design from Louisiana Tech University in 2014 and most recently completed her MFA in Graphic Design, with a focus on experiential design, from her alma mater in 2024. She has worked professionally as a commercial interior designer for seven years in Houston, Texas.
Carwile is skilled in all phases of commercial interior project design and has worked with national design firm Huitt-Zollars (formerly Morris Architects). Her contributions helped the firm earn the 2016 AIA Houston Design Award in Interior Architecture for the Morris Architects Houston Downtown Office Renovation. Carwile’s project experience ranges from corporate, hospitality, education, institution, healthcare, and government. She also is well-versed in all phases of commercial project design— from early concept to final completion.
Additionally, Carwile’s background in interior design allows her to explore graphic design through a unique lens that is both holistic and experiential. Her work has been published in Communication Arts magazine, the leading trade journal for visual communications globally, and she has shown work at the WORK National Juried Student Exhibition in Jacksonville, Alabama. In 2023, Carwile was awarded the Anna Protho Art Graduate Scholarship, one of the most esteemed College of Liberal Arts scholarships at Louisiana Tech University. She has also worked with HKS, Inc., consistently ranked as one of the top global architecture firms, as an experiential brand intern.
Through her multi-disciplinary approach, Carwile has the unique ability to combine interior design, graphic design, and experiential storytelling— crafting thoughtful, engaging environments that connect people with place to elevate the human experience.
